Winnipeg (dirty water) To start with we had to overrule TomTom to get to the Rv park. Yeah…finally won an argument with the little black thingy. We took a day and explored the windy city which was not so windy. Saw the Canadian Mint where all of our coin is made, as well as a lot of other countries. Particularly enjoyed Saint Boniface, the old French section of Winnipeg. Saw some beautiful old stone buildings such as the cathedral and drove past Louis Riel’s grave site. Had a great lunch at the Forks (place where the Assiniboine and Red river meet)… similar in nature to Granville Island. Drove around and got a bit of a feeling for the place.
Drove from Winnipeg to near Thunder Bay. Long day. Stayed in a provincial park for $43.00. Hmm We let Kit out to roam. And he came back.. Yeah!... a bit reluctantly, but he did come back.
Spent the day at one of Canada’s top ten attractions Fort William Historical Park. Great place with actors and staff living and working at the fort. Well worth it. We learned a lot about the North West Company, fur trading and life style history. I must check out what the other nine attractions are.
