Notes

Here we are at the Imperial theater in Saint John " Just for Laughs" comedy show. We are Capital one stars.??

We crossed the border and are overniting in Newport, just outside Bangor Maine at the only campsite that we found that is open at this time of the year at this location. Walmart here we come.

Much to Kits disgust he did not get sent back home at the border as I think he was hoping. They did not even look at his papers.
Actually he is doing great or at least if he is meowing, we are not hearing him as he travels in the trailer. He walks better on the leash now... well kinda.

The cat is funny when we set up the satellite dish for TV:
Jack is outside the trailer moving the dish slowly and I'm in the trailer yelling out the window at him (Jack not the cat). I need to tell him the numbers for tuning the satellite. The numbers have to be in the green area and above 50 for the tv to work well. So you can picture me yelling out the numbers, usually they start at around 6, and then when it gets close to being tuned.....Well of course I get excited, my voice gets louder and then the cat starts running around the trailer jumping off and on the furniture. I think he looks forward to tuning the "dish".

We traveled 13,400 K. on our Canada Trip. That does not include the 5 ferry trips.
Bye for now.

Last night in Canada

Jack hanging out with the "people" in Saint John.

At the market...

A faraway picture of Jack and I in front of an Anglican church in Saint John

We arrived in Truro Nova Scotia during a huge rain storm, stayed overnight and then travelled onto Saint John New Brunswick. Spent the first day cleaning and hanging out in the trailer then the next day we visited and saw the sights around Saint John. The weather is cool but beautifully sunny.

  • We happened to see an advertisement for a Just For Laughs comedy show. We were able to get tickets and went to see the show. Great show! Good comedy and beautiful theatre. The main headliner was Jeremy Hotz.

Finally got some pumpkin pie. Yumm.

Tomorrow we head to the states for our eastern seaboard trip. We are headed to Disney world ... Come join us if you can. :-)

Bye for now

What famous Nova Scotia Landmark is this beauty of a lighthouse from?

Peggy’s cove is nothing like we expected. The day we went, there were at least 15 big busses full of tourists from cruise ships and taxis and limousines arriving with more visitors. The place was full of people and vehicles so I went and sat on a bench in a quiet place on the other side of all the activity and actually got to see four whales. Neat!

What a great autumn drive we had through the middle of Nova Scotia to get to Kejimkujik National Park and historic site. Yep. Repeat after me… Kejimkujik

We camped in this park for a couple of nights while a wind and rain storm went through the province. You can tell by the picture that we were well sheltered. Still no pumpkin pie.

Nova Scotia bound

One more note on the NFL ferry--. the following day after we caught it, it was cancelled due to high winds, so we were fortunate to get going when we did.

We spent three nights in Dartmouth which is just across the bridge from Halifax. We stayed in a great place with TransCanada walking trails and meandering roads with autumn touched trees shading them. We went for a drive down Waverly road and viewed some beautiful properties along the lakes. The prices aren’t outrageous either. Jack and I both like this location.

Had a great hot turkey sandwich for thanksgiving at the local bar and grill. The only thing missing was pumpkin pie. We even had cranberry served in those little Kraft packages. We totally enjoyed our pub dinner. The weather was great and of course that added to our enjoyment of the day.

The next day we took a short “walk on” ferry and hung out on the Wharf in downtown Halifax. We visited the Alexander Keith’s beer emporium where we imbibed two pints of the finest while we were entertained by young folk acting out the story of the Beer giant and Halifax.

Kit also liked the campground… so he took a three hour hiatus and watched us from the bushes as we looked everywhere for him…da Brat.
